Crocodile Lile is known by many along the Mother Road. He is a seventy-five-year-old artist, jewelry designer and Route 66 tour guide (for companies as far away as New Zealand), with a penchant for living life to its fullest. He has traveled Route 66 many times in his convertible and motorcycle. Lady, his four-legged companion, who sometimes accompanies Crocodile on his sojourns, is a fixture at his gallery on 6th Avenue in downtown Amarillo. His gallery/studio is filled with his own works as well as pieces from other artists, sculptors and photographers. In addition, he sells his line of jewelry called Cadilite Jewelry, made from paint chips he gathers from the ground around the Cadillac Ranch, an installation of ten upended Cadillacs in a field along I-40, west of Amarillo.
