From Tucumcari to Santa Fe
New Mexico

After we left Tucumari we passed by several small Route 66 towns and Albuquerque on the way to our next overnight stop, Santa Fe. Albuquerque is a four-way crossroads of the Mother Road. A turn in any direction leads to the old highway and its scattered remnants. We came across numerous Indian trading posts with backdrops of sandstone cliffs. It was fun to stop at one of them, as it had an abundant selection of merchandise and fun displays.
